Gaming Security
Gaming networks are a rich source of income for hackers, these have multiple complex layers for them to exploit everything from game credit fraud to account takeovers (ATO).
Most Online Role Playing Games allow players to create online identities as characters within virtual adventures, which sometimes cross into the real world. For example, gamers can sell virtual game items for real-world currency in markets like Flipkart & Ebay etc., but also in some games there are user-created, virtual marketplaces where people use real money to create or purchase personal property in their online world. This has created an opportunity for a new type of criminal activity called “virtual crime.”
At Social Media Security, we highlight gaming security risks and advice in simple language for everyone to understand.
